BluKavantUI MCP

Give your assistant the component APIs, examples and setup details for web and OutSystems.

COMPONENT KNOWLEDGE FOR YOUR ASSISTANT

Build from the actual component API

Connect your AI coding assistant to BluKavantUI’s versioned documentation. It can look up the right properties, events, types and examples before writing TypeScript or working in Service Studio.

Connect in a few steps

  1. Install Node.js 20.19 or newer on the machine running your MCP client.
  2. Add the blukavantui entry below to your client’s MCP configuration. Keep all existing server entries, including your OutSystems MCP.
  3. Enable or reconnect the new server in your client, then ask it to look up a component.
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "blukavantui": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "--yes",
        "--package=https://blukavantui.blutekmedia.com/downloads/blukavantui-mcp-0.4.5.tgz",
        "blukavantui-mcp"
      ]
    }
  }
}

For clients with a setup form, choose stdio, command npx, and enter the three arguments shown above. Configuration file locations vary by client. On Windows, use npx.cmd if the client requires the executable suffix.

The first launch downloads the package from this website. Once installed, the server reads its bundled documentation locally. It needs no Service Studio credentials and does not fetch your application files.

Local installation and executable paths

Download the archive above and install it in a local tools folder:

npm install ./blukavantui-mcp-0.4.5.tgz

Configure the absolute path to node as the command and the absolute path to node_modules/@blukavantui/mcp/dist/server.mjs as its argument. This also works when a desktop client cannot find npx on its PATH.

The package is distributed here, not on the npm registry. Use the full archive URL in the quick-start configuration. Running the executable with --version prints its version; normal execution uses stdin/stdout for the MCP protocol.

TWO MCPS · ONE AGENT

Your agent can build the OutSystems screen

Ask Codex, Claude Code or another MCP-enabled agent for a screen. It reads the component details from BluKavantUI MCP, then calls OutSystems MCP to create or edit that screen in Service Studio.

  1. Read the right components

    BluKavantUI MCP supplies the APIs, producer modules, types, CSS requirements and working examples.

  2. Make the native edits

    The agent turns those references into calls to OutSystems MCP: add Blocks, create typed locals, bind inputs and wire actions.

  3. Validate and run

    The agent checks Service Studio validation, tests the resulting screen and publishes through OutSystems MCP when you authorize it and its publishing permission is enabled.

BluKavantUI MCP supplies component guidance to your agent, such as Codex or Claude Code. The agent calls OutSystems MCP to create or edit Service Studio screens.BluKavantUI MCP supplies component guidance to your agent, such as Codex or Claude Code. The agent calls OutSystems MCP to create or edit Service Studio screens.
The agent reads the component guidance, makes the native edits, then validates and tests the result. Publishing follows your authorization. For web, it uses the same guidance to write TypeScript and CSS.
What “read-only” means here

BluKavantUI MCP reads documentation. Your agent can still make native changes by calling the separately connected OutSystems MCP. The servers do not need to call each other directly—the agent carries the component guidance into the editing workflow.

Actual editor operations depend on the tools your OutSystems MCP exposes. If a dependency-selection step is unavailable, the agent should identify that specific manual step.

TESTED WITH BOTH CONNECTIONS

A real screen created in Service Studio

On October 13, 2026, Codex fetched the native Card, ChatWidget and FloatButton contracts and examples through BluKavantUI MCP 0.2.0, then used the connected OutSystems MCP to create McpExamples → McpAssistantDemo in the sample module.

The screen passed Service Studio validation, was published, and was tested for sending messages, receiving a local reply, expand/minimize, Escape focus return, draft preservation and reopening with a custom SVG FloatButton. Its layout was checked at desktop, 390 px and 320 px widths.

This verifies the two-MCP editing workflow with installed producer dependencies. Replies are deterministic demo text; connecting an AI service or business API is application-owned setup.

EXISTING ENTITY · REAL LOAD AND SAVE

A Grid and edit Drawer connected to OutSystems data

Codex read the native Grid, Drawer, Button and Card contracts through BluKavantUI MCP, then used OutSystems MCP to build McpExamples → McpCustomerDemo. It reuses the demo’s existing BluGridDemoCustomer entity, LoadGridCustomers and SaveGridCustomers Server Actions.

The Grid loads 250 database customers. The Drawer edits name, seats and revenue, displays validation and save errors, and keeps the draft after a rejected save. The existing server workflow enforces permissions, validates values and checks the original record version before committing.

Browser checks verified a successful save after a full reload, invalid-input handling, Cancel without a write, and a stale save rejected from a second tab with its draft preserved. The test customer’s values were restored through the same save workflow.

Open the MCP Grid + Drawer sample ↗

Find it under MCP Grid + Drawer in the OutSystems demo navigation. Demo editor access is required. The component Blocks supply the UI; the consumer module owns its entity, permissions and persistence.

Web / TypeScript

“Use the BluKavantUI MCP to build a support panel with ChatWidget and a FloatButton using a custom SVG icon. Fetch the web APIs and examples, include the correct CSS, and wire my chat endpoint.”

Start from a complete screen

“Use the Event template for our conference site. Read its web component dependencies and extra CSS/setup requirements, copy all required files, then connect registration to /api/registrations.”

Build a records workspace

“Create a customer Grid with a Drawer for record details. Fetch the typed web APIs and examples, connect my load/save functions, and preserve edits when a save fails.”

  1. Search the catalog and read blukavantui_get_component with platform: "web", including API and types.
  2. Fetch blukavantui_get_example for the working TypeScript source. Preserve its imports and factory/event signatures.
  3. Load the theme once, mount the component, connect your own data and callbacks, and destroy the instance on unmount.
  4. For a screen template, use blukavantui_get_template to get every source file, component dependency, stylesheet and setup requirement.

OutSystems

“Using both MCPs, add a full-edition ChatWidget to my open consumer module. Inspect its dependencies first, fetch the native contract and binding recipe, wire its events to screen state, and check validation messages.”

Use an existing entity

“Using both MCPs, build a customer Grid with an edit Drawer from my existing Customer entity. Inspect its attributes and server actions, reuse the existing permissions and save validation, wire loading and saving, and preserve drafts when a save fails. Test persistence by reloading.”

Create a native screen from a template

“Read the OutSystems setup for the Request template, then use OutSystems MCP to create a copy in my consumer module. Preserve the shared layout and typed lists, and connect submission to my Server Action.”

Repair a typed binding

“My TreeSelect reports ‘Expecting a BluTreeNodeList Type’. Use BluKavantUI MCP to read the native contract, inspect the live input and local variable with OutSystems MCP, then correct the producer type and validate the module.”

Use the Community edition

“In my installed Community consumer, add a read-only Grid Basic and a detail Card. Use the Community contracts and producers, wire row selection to the detail view, and verify the compiled screen.”

  1. Use the existing OutSystems MCP to inspect the open target module, references and available public elements.
  2. Read the BluKavantUI contract and example with platform: "outsystems" and edition: "enterprise" or "community".
  3. Reference the documented producer’s Blocks, structures, static entities and actions. Native examples provide binding instructions and input/event blueprints; they are not importable OML files.
  4. Use the editor MCP’s supported operations to wire the model, then read validation messages and verify the compiled interaction.
Keep the original type identity

For “Expecting a BluTreeNodeList Type”, use the exact referenced producer’s list type for your consumer value. A locally recreated structure with the same name, or one from a different edition, is not interchangeable.

Community includes separate contracts for all 31 Blocks, including Grid Basic. Its official Forge distribution is still pending. The current screen templates reference the full edition.

WEB · FORM STORAGE & ATTACHMENTS

Use the working form workflow in your own web app

MCP 0.4.5 includes complete TypeScript source for a shared FormBuilder/FormRenderer workspace and HTTP storage adapter: save RawJson, upload files, submit answers, reload and download. It documents the exact web inputs, callback arguments, request-ID acknowledgements and application-owned backend routes.

blukavantui_get_guide({"topic":"web-form-storage"})

Both web component examples return this recipe in recommendedIntegration. The same guide is available at blukavantui://guides/web-form-storage. Its sourceFiles contain the complete implementation; the website's temporary preview adapter is clearly separate from your production storage.

OUTSYSTEMS · FORM BUILDER

Save forms as JSON. Keep one shared screen.

The MCP now includes the published save/reload and attachment setup: one RawJson attribute, a shared screen, and one upload endpoint. It provides exact FormBuilder/FormRenderer inputs, event-to-handler mappings, save acknowledgements, reload state and the Binary upload/download contract.

blukavantui_get_guide({"topic":"outsystems-form-storage"})

The same recipe is included in native FormBuilder and FormRenderer examples. Search for RawJson or save reload attachments. It identifies the library Blocks separately from the demo’s consumer-owned Entity, Server Action and REST API, and preserves the required access checks.

Tools and prompts use the full blukavantui_ prefix. Version 0.1.0 used the older bluui_ shorthand; update your package URL and saved tool calls when moving to 0.2.0. The version 0.1.0 archive remains available for existing pinned configurations.

Resources

blukavantui://catalog lists available components and templates. blukavantui://guides/outsystems-workflow describes coordination with the editor. blukavantui://guides/outsystems-form-storage contains the native JSON persistence and attachment recipe. The resource template blukavantui://components/{platform}/{edition}/{name} exposes full contracts; use enterprise in the edition segment for web resources.

Reusable prompts

blukavantui_build_web_screen and blukavantui_build_outsystems_screen accept a task; the native prompt also accepts an edition. Clients that expose MCP prompts can use them to start a screen-building workflow.

Versions and scope

MCP 0.4.5 bundles web SDK 0.9.0, starter 0.9.4, Community 0.3.3 and the native API snapshot dated 2026-10-14.

The archive stays on that snapshot. Update its package URL when a newer MCP release is available; it will not silently switch your reference version. For native work, compare the contract with the live producer before editing.

Accessibility references retain their original evidence dates and package versions. They cover reusable component and screen-template support, not full-page or application conformance. Your content, colors, data services and integration still need validation.

The MCP archive contains references and examples, not the native component libraries. Existing component licensing and distribution terms still apply.

Troubleshooting

Server does not start: check Node’s version and executable path, use npx.cmd where needed, or install the archive locally. The first download needs network access.

OutSystems asks for a session token: renew it through the existing OutSystems MCP and Service Studio approval flow. Never paste it into the BluKavantUI configuration.

A contract is missing: search the catalog and check platform, edition and snapshot version. The server reports unavailable combinations rather than substituting another API.
